Welcome to Adult Onset Adolescence

Adolescence is an in-between time. A time when you're no longer a child, but you're not yet an adult. A time to experiment.

I did it once, then I settled down into my nice comfortable life as a wife and mother. Love surrounded me in the form of my husband and two children. My grievances were minor.

Eight years ago, my husband died of cancer and my youngest child went to join her brother in college in California. I became a widow and an empty-nester within two months. Then I was bat-shit crazy for about four years.

Now I'm better, sort of, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Life can be very interesting when you're dancing on shaky ground. So, this blog is likely to be a bit shaky, with bits of this and that thrown in. I hope it makes you think, laugh, and feel a little less alone. It's like John Lennon wrote, "Whatever gets you through the night." And trust me, there are a lot of nights.

  1. New reader here. Wonderful title, even for those of us who are ostensibly all settled.
